Nancy LeGrand of Cape Girardeau recently received a top personal-sales award from Mary Kay Cosmetics.

LeGrand, who joined the company in January 1986, was named to the consultant Queen's Court of Personal Sales and received a 14-karat-gold diamond ring during a Mary Kay seminar in Dallas.

LeGrand was one of about 30,000 persons who attended the two-week seminar, where she took part in career enhancement classes on new products and programs.

TAMMS, Ill. Jack Hill has been appointed to the Tamms State Bank Board of Directors.

Hill is president of Shawnee Community College near Ullin. He and his wife, Mary, reside in Vienna.

In announcing Hill's appointment, John Abercrombie, president of Tamms State Bank, said: "We are pleased to have Hill on our board. His background in education and management will be a valuable resource as our bank grows and adapts its products and services to the ever-changing needs of individuals and communities we serve."

Before becoming Shawnee president in January 1991, Hill served as vice president for instructional services at John A. Logan College in Carterville. He is a member of the board of directors of the Southern Illinois Credit Union, a member of the Task Force on Articulation of the Illinois College Board, and a community college delegate in People's Republic of China Citizen Ambassador program.

Hill has a doctorate in higher education, a master's degree in administration, and a bachelor's degree in education, all from Southern Illinois University.

Vicky Strack has successfully completed the certified public accountant's examination.

Strack attended Cape Central High School and is a cum laude graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, where she obtained her bachelor of science degree with a major in accounting.

Strack was employed by Schott and Van de Ven Certified Public Accountants in June 1989. Her present position with the firm is that of assistant accounting supervisor.

JACKSON Rick Humphrey of Century Propane in Jackson has been elected chairman of the Missouri LP-Gas Association Board of Directors for the 1992-93 term.

The organization, based in Jefferson City, is a trade association for its member LP-gas retailers and their associates. The board is comprised of 27 members.

Dr. Edwin J. Masters of Cape Girardeau recently completed continuing medical education requirements to retain active membership in the American Academy of Family Physicians, the national association of family doctors.

The requirements call for members to complete a minimum of 150 hours of accredited continuing medical study every three years.

Masters has been an active member of the academy since 1988. The organization is headquartered in Kansas City.

JACKSON Stephen Grebing of Jackson has earned the title of fraternal insurance counselor after completing the Fraternal Field Managers' Association fraternal sales training program.

Grebing is an associate of the Jack Hollingsworth Agency of Aid Association for Lutherans headquartered in Independence.

Grebing studied life insurance fundamentals and contract provisions during the training program. He then passed three examinations under the supervision of the Research and Review Service of America, based in Indianapolis, to earn the designation.
