Welker, an employee of Cape Chimney Sweeps, has worked under the direction of Ed McElfresh, a master sweep for three years.
Welker and McElfresh recently attended the National Chimney Sweep Guild Conference where Welker successfully completed and passed the certification test.

OAK RIDGE Diane Seabaugh of Oak Ridge recently returned from a 10-day trip to London and Scotland.
Seabaugh, a supervisor for Christmas Around the World, a national party plan company, earned the trip for her sales production. It marked the second straight year she has earned a trip. She also recently completed an extensive training session.
Seabaugh has been associated with the company five years. Seabaugh and her husband, Keith Seabaugh, live on Oak Ridge Route 1.

Four nurses at St. Francis Medical Center recently attended a neuroscience nursing conference in Anaheim, Calif.
Attending were Pauline Elliott, director of inpatient care; Chris Byrd, neuroscience clinical nurse specialist; Kathy Leimer, neurosurgery clinical resource nurse; and Diane Glaus, patient care manager for the neurosurgery unit.
The conference, sponsored by the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses, discussed the latest in neuroscience nursing care and technology.

Joe Hercik and Dennis Underwood of Ford Groves have been honored with membership in the prestigious Ford 300/500 Masters Club.
The annual salute recognizes salesmen for outstanding sales, customer satisfaction and knowledge of the product.
Hercik works at the Jackson office. He has five years automotive experience. He and his wife, Beverly, reside in Jackson.
Underwood, of the Cape Girardeau office, is a 15-year recipient of the award. He has been at Ford Groves for more than 30 years. Underwood and his wife, Barbara, reside in Cape Girardeau.

Dr. S. Edwin Noffel, a Cape Girardeau orthodontist, was keynote speaker last week at a meeting of the American Association of Orthodontists in St. Louis.
Noffel discussed "Diagnosis and Facial Form" at the organization's 91st annual meeting, attended by about 11,000 people.
Noffel helped welcome orthodontists from across the world to the United States. Returning to Cape Girardeau with Noffel were Dr. Carlo Perissinotto and Dr. Piero Angi, both of Venice, Italy. They observed the practice of Noffel and his partner, Dr. David Feuerhahn.

Stephen Jackson and Evelyn "Lynn" Biler, members of Snelling Personnel Services staff, recently received national recognition for outstanding performance.
Jackson, owner and managing consultant at the local office in the Executive Building, Suite 7, was cited at the company's "platinum" level for his performance in placing people in the manufacturing industry.
Biler, the office's services specialists, received "bronze" level recognition for performance in clerical, accounting and administration. She works primarily in the Bootheel and Southern Illinois areas.
The local office is a franchise of Snelling and Snelling Inc. of Dallas.
