Dr. Beverly Cleair, Wendy Nesslein and Rebecca Keen, all of Regional Eyecare Center Inc., 1749 Independence, recently attended Eye Quest Conference '93 in Chicago.

Purpose of the conference was to update eye care practitioners, opticians, technicians, vision care assistants, secretaries and bookkeepers employed in eye care.

The participants had a choice of 235 hours of continuing education covering a variety of subjects, including contact lenses, primary eye care, and practice management.

Jill Wilferth and Pam Spradling, both of Kicks Cards and Gifts in Crossroads Professional and Shopping Center here, recently attended the Stationery Market in Atlanta, Ga.

Kicks recently added Crane Paper as an exclusive representative for the Crane line of thermography and engraved invitations and personal stationery. Kicks will also handle Crane's leather-bound journals and accessories.

Marvin Miller has received the designation of enrolled agent following a two-day, four-part examination administered by the Internal Revenue Service.

The designation permits Miller, a tax preparer with offices at 911 N. Missouri, to represent taxpayers before the IRS.

William R. Schott of Schott & Van de Ven, Certified Public Accountants, Cape Girardeau, recently attended a four-day tax conference sponsored by National Tax Institute Inc.

Subjects covered included individual and corporate tax updates, tax planning for professionals, fringe benefits and retirement plans.

Dr. James Chapman, a Cape Girardeau cardiologist, recently participated in the evaluation of a new balloon catheter for the performance of coronary angioplasty.

The evaluation was performed at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. Dr. Rob Schwartz, a staff cardiologist at Mayo Clinic, also participated in the evaluation.

Chapman is associated with Cardiovascular Consultants of Cape Girardeau and is a member of the medical staffs of St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.
