Muzzy received his special award during the Education Conference on Tourism held recently at St. Charles.

Eva Kelley of Cape Girardeau has been named "Pioneer of the Year" by the Cape Life Member Club of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
She received her honors at the annual member luncheon for the Telephone Pioneers of America held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in St. Louis.
Kelley was selected for the honor by fellow members. She has been fund-raising chairperson, making this a record year for the club. Funds raised by the club are donated to charitable organizations.
Past recipients of the award include Evelyn Buhs, Martha Elliott, Francis Kerr and Evelyn Zimmerman.

JACKSON Kenneth E. Volkerding, Route 3, Jackson, has been recognized for sales honors with Lutheran Brotherhood Securities Corp., headquartered in Minneapolis.
Volkerding has earned a spot on the firm's "Wall of Fame." He brought a total of 217 new members into the company in 1992, the highest number of Lutheran Brotherhood agents in the nation.
Volkerding is associated with PALS Financial Group in St. Charles, where he was recently honored. He also received recognition during the firm's annual sales conference in Tampa, Fla.

Dr. Anthony Zoffuto of Cape Girardeau has qualified as a certified Medical Review Officer (MRO).
Zoffuto is a board certified internist with the Internal Medicine Group, 14 Doctors' Park. He is certified in addiction medicine and is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, American Society of Addiction Medicine and American Society of Internal Medicine.
Zoffuto received his MRO certification from the Medical Review Officer Certification Council. The council is an independent organization that conducts an extensive application process and examination to identify physicians with the highest professional standards of medical expertise and practical skills necessary to evaluate drug and alcohol tests conducted in public and private sectors of the work place.
The MRO certification is endorsed by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.

Darrel Seabaugh has been recognized by Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) for his volunteer efforts on behalf of AAL Branch 1621 in Jackson.
Seabaugh is part of an AAL volunteer group that shares information with legislators about the accomplishments of AAL branches in their communities and the important contributions made by fraternal benefit societies.
"Many people are not aware of the variety of ways fraternal benefit societies assist individuals, families and communities," said Richard L. Gunderson, AAL president and chief operating officer. "It's important that our elected officials know about these achievements."
As part of his recognition, Seabaugh will receive a letter of thanks and a monetary award for a charity of his choice.

Bruce Vick, driver for Commercial Transport, was recently honored during the company's safety awards banquet for logging more than 3 million accident-free miles.
Vick has a total of 3,300,000 accident-free miles over a 33-year period. He has been with Commercial Transport 29 years.
Vick and his wife, Sherri, reside in East Cape Girardeau, Ill. They are parents of three children.

Chris Byrd, St. Francis Medical Center neurosciences nurse specialist, has been recognized as one of the top 15 nurses in Missouri.
Byrd, who has held several nursing positions at St. Francis since joining the center in 1985, will be honored during an award ceremony at Adam's Mark Hotel in St. Louis this month as one of the top 15.
Five winners will be named at the banquet for "Tribute to Missouri Nurses" awards.
