AUTHORITIES TALK MAN OFF RIVER BRIDGE

Cape Girardeau police and firefighters talked a 31-year-old man threatening to jump, down from the Mississippi River bridge early Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 5:49 a.m., with an engine and a boat to assist police already on the bridge.
Police said when the man came down off of the guard rail after only a few minutes, he was extremely intoxicated.
The man was placed in a holding cell are released Sunday afternoon.
No one was hurt in the incident.
