Authorities seek 'Solo' artist responsible for graffiti

Eight new incidents of graffiti have been reported during the last two days to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Each of the spray-painted signatures reads "Solo," but police have no idea what it implies, said patrolman Jason Selzer said.

"It has no gang significance that we know of," Selzer said. "It could be an acronym or signature, but none of us know anyone out there using that name."

The vandal artist struck five businesses on Broadway, K's Merchandise on Broadview, a building on North Kingshighway, and a concrete overpass at Interstate 55 and Highway 74.

There have been 13 reports of spray painted property damage since July, Selzer said. One of the incidents from earlier this summer also said "Solo."
