Mitterer has carved for more than 30 years. He is a master carver and instructor at the Austrian Woodcarving School at Tyrol, Austria.

Mitterer was born in 1963 in an Austrian ski resort in the Alps. He began carving when he was 4 years old.
He currently is on a two-month tour of the United States to promote woodcarving and the school.
The event is open to the public.
