CAPE GIRARDEAU -- River City Players will hold auditions for its August musical comedy production of Nunsense II, by Dan Goggin. The auditions will be June 28-29 at Port Cape Girardeau Restaurant at 7 p.m.
Four female roles, ages 20 and above, will be cast. Auditions consist of a cold reading from the script, a prepared vocals election and a simple movement or dance routine. Prospective cast members should bring an extra copy of sheet music for an accompanist.
Rehearsals begin July 5 and require a minimum of three evenings per week. Dinner theater dates are Aug. 18, 19, 25, 26, beginning at 8 p.m., with doors open at 6:30 p.m. In addition, a "no dinner' show will take place Aug. 24 at 7 p.m., with doors open at 6 p.m.
"The Little Sisters of Hoboken are returning to Cape Girardeau to thank past patrons for their charitable support," said Ann Swanson of Jackson, director of the production. The show "is a music review featuring each of the sisters' unique talents. The friendships and rivalries among the sisters result in an uproarious evening of entertainment."
For more information, contact Swanson at 243-1450, after 6 p.m.
