Auditions for the May production of "Pure as the Driven Snow" will be held Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at the Academy of Dance Arts in Cape Girardeau.
"Pure as the Driven Snow" will be presented by the Broadway Community Theater May 8-9 at the Holiday Inn Convention Center. It is a dinner theater with the dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by the show.
Susie Felker, Community Theater board member, said the show is a classic melodrama in three acts.
"If you like to ham it up, this is the type of production for you," Felker said.
The cast will be made up of about 10 players, but a backstage and technical crew also is needed. Auditions are open to anyone ages 14 and older.
"The characters are not very specific as far as age is concerned," Felker said.
Directing the play will be Dave Kaempfer and Jill Sturm. Sturm is a senior at Cape Girardeau Central High School, where she has student-directed plays.
Auditions will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday and from 7-9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Academy of Dance Arts, 2254 Kingsway. There is no preregistration requirement for auditions.
Tickets for the May production are on sale through the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts at 334-9233. They are $25 per person, which includes dinner and the show. Reservations are required.
Last weekend's Broadway Community Theater production, "Babes In Arms," drew more than 600 people, Felker said.
