CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Local entertainer Vi Keys will host her annual hat auction to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. This year's auction will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Holidome.
Keys will auction hats from celebrities, artists and entertainers such as Phil Donahue, Earl Thomas Conley, Mickey Gilley and Gary Owens from television's "Laugh-in."
Keys said the auction is in its seventh year. It usually takes her most of the year to collect the celebrity hats, she said.
All proceeds go to the Arthritis Foundation and will be used for research, educational programs and self-help courses. Money is also used for medical equipment and financial assistance to arthritis victims.
Anyone interested in donating additional hats for the auction should contact Keys at Keys Music, 334-6626.
