AUCTION, DANCE TO BENEFIT FAMILY

A fund-raising benefit to help defray medical costs of the Pearla Murphy family will be held from 6 p.m. to midnight Saturday at the Jackson Knights of Columbus Hall.

Her husband, David E. Murphy, 42, of Jackson, died of leukemia Sept. 5. The family is of Jackson.

A silent auction of items provided by Cape Girardeau and Jackson businesses will be held. There will be musical entertainment and a sound system will provide music for the dance following the auction.

Tickets are $7.50 each or $13 per couple and may be purchased at the door.
