Auburn Park Place is expected to be ready for occupancy by July.

"We're shooting for a mid-June opening," said Larry Westrich of Drury Southwest, which is building the commercial-retail and office complex building near Route K and Mount Auburn Road. "We hope to have everything ready for tenants by then."

The six-story structure has more than 200,000 square feet,

The company is talking with a number of retail businesses and others that have expressed an interest in the location, said Westrich.

The first phase of the Auburn Place project was construction and opening of Ruby Tuesday Restaurant early in 1996.

In announcing the project in mid-1995, Bob Drury, president of Drury Southwest, said the complex will be a "real showcase project."

The project originally stared as a four-story structure, but during construction has turned into a six-level building.

An ordinance granting a special-use permit for purposes of constructing, maintaining and operating a sixth floor at the 3065 William building was approved by the City Council last month.
