Panel discussion will involve WWII veterans

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Six World War II veterans from the Poplar Bluff area will tell their stories at a panel discussion from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Bloodworth House, 626 Cynthia St. They are Pernell Barwick, James Dement, Dr. William C. Jackson, Carl Johnson, James Johnson and Cecil Million. Dr. Frank Nickell, a WWII expert and director of the Center for Regional History at Southeast Missouri State University, will moderate the discussion. The event is free and open to the public. The panel discussion is one of two special events to mark the opening of a traveling exhibit of more than 30 WWII photos from now through July 9.
