Concerns with the rising costs of health care dominated the recent Mid-America Labor Management Conference at Lake Ozark, according to Johnny Ray Conklin of Cape Girardeau, who attended the gathering. He reported the results of the conference to the Area Labor-management Cooperation Committee.
Conklin said methods of health care cost containment were discussed heavily at the conference. It was sponsored by the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations and by the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The annual meeting draws representatives from labor, management and education from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Iowa and Kansas.
The Area Labor Management Cooperation Committee meets on the second Thursday monthly and is open to the public.
