CAMBRIA, Ill. -- The Williamson County Major Case Squad has been called in to aid in a multijurisdictional investigation into the death of Steven L. Jett, an assistant state's attorney for Alexander County.

According to a news release from Williamson County Sheriff Tom Cundiff, Jett, 39, lived in Cambria.

Officials were being tight-lipped Monday night, but said his body was discovered Monday and that an autopsy is scheduled for today.

No information was released as to the cause or manner of his death.

Also involved with the investigation are Illinois State Police, the Cambria Police Department and the Williamson County coroner.
