The Southeast Missourian asked people how they felt about Jackson's growth and if they were concerned that it might lose its small-town charm.

Nick Seabaugh: "Jackson is growing so fast. I like it the way it is now. I would not like the big population and not having anywhere to go without a lot of people running into you."

Jon Starzinger: "I really like Jackson the way it is, where you can walk the streets at night without having to worry. I'm afraid if it grows too much some gangs might move into the area."

Jon Gerdes: "I like Jackson small. There's not a lot of people. Nobody really bothers you. It's a pretty cool little small-town. Jackson is going to get bigger, though."

Sandy Kasten: "I think it's growing too rapidly, and the small community that we once had will be gone someday. Jackson is growing because parents want their kids to go to Jackson schools."

Wanda Gaulding: "I think that Jackson is growing too fast. We used to know everyone, but now there are so many new faces. We have a real good school system, which seems to draw people from out of the area."
