The Southeast Missourian asked people what they thought about the Jackson School Board's plans for a new high school math and science building. It would include eight classrooms for math and eight for science.

Ed Sebaugh: "It's something that has been needed for a long time. We only have one lab for all of our chemistry and physics now. It will enable us to modernize our science program which is good now, but we can make it better."

Ryan Harper: "Anyone who goes to school here can see that overcrowding is a problem. We have a good science program here, but it would be to everyone's advantage to have a bigger work space. It's really cluttered now with one main lab."

Josh Wille: "It's a real good idea. In labs right now, it's really crowded and we need the extra space. People usually end up breaking things. It's real tight, and for that reason it could be potentially dangerous."

Cass Hope: "It's a good idea. I'm going into engineering, and I would have liked to have seen more technology and more space dedicated to math and science. A lot of our equipment is old, and new equipment could have really helped."

Justin Osborne: "It would be really good. We could use the new space. Right now, it's really crowded and tough to concentrate sometimes."
