The Southeast Missourian asked people if the purchase of a drug dog for the Jackson Police Department would be a good use of donations. The police department is soliciting $25,000 in donations for the dog.
Bill Wallace: "I think it would be a good addition. With the problem of drugs in our society, any help the police can have in deterring criminal activity in that area would be to our benefit."
Nancy Wickham: "I think it would be great. Sometimes the police officers can't find the drugs, and the dogs can. Anything that will help stop the drug traffic is a good idea."
Pattie Ammon: "I think it's a good idea. We need to do what we can to get drugs out of Jackson. This would be one way that is very dependable."
Brian Meier: "I think it would be a good use of money to have a drug dog. We need to get the drugs out of Jackson. I think the dog would get a lot of use."
Ben Meier: "I think Jackson needs a drug dog, because there are drugs coming into Jackson. It would help control the problem."
