The Southeast Missourian asked students at Immaculate Conception Catholic School how they managed to cope with last week's winter vacation from school.
Brent Knaup: "I went to my grandma's, got out in the cow pasture and went sledding down a big hill on an inner tube, but it popped. I also slid around on a frozen creek."
Morgan Meyer: "I went ice skating at the skating rink in Cape. I also went sledding outside in our yard."
Kirk Powers: "I got to ride a tractor with my grandpa. We moved frozen limbs off the electric fence. I also got to feed the cows there."
Shelly Holzum: "I rode a four-wheeler and was pulled on a sled behind it. We got out into our field and had fun. I wore lots of clothes to keep warm."
Cory Beussink: "We went up to a cabin and went out and skated on a pond in boots. It was cold, but we had a fire there so we could get warm."
