Restaurant: I've never had a bad experience with Tractors in Jackson, or the Southerner in Cape. Every time their service is on point.
Fast food:. You can get a lot of shady fast food workers around here. The exception is the Taco Bell in Sikeston and in Cape on Kingshighway. Always a nice crowd working out there.
I'm going to have to go with Rice Noodle Cai. The lady that works the window is always happy to see me, and she seems to love what she's doing. It is made-to-order Chinese food, but you never wait long. Service is fast, the food is hot, and the smiles are real. Whaddya think, Jess?
Well, Bec, it's going to sound goofy, but Taco Bell on William Street has servers who truly seemed like they were enjoying their jobs, and on more than one visit. It is so nice to see a genuine smile, and that deserves a shout out!
There was a server at Minglewood Brewery that put up with our shenanigans with admirable aplomb. He took my statement that "I'm not a beer person" in stride, gave us both hefty sample of their brews, and found us a beer that was smooth and fruity. He laughed with us, talked with us, and made us feel like we had dined with a friend.
In terms of service, I think that Chan's is the best. The staff there is very friendly from the moment you walk in the door to the moment you leave. The servers are always willing to answer questions about the different entrees, and their kitchen staff is so quick I never have to worry about getting my order in time to eat and then make it back to the office before my lunch hour is over.
Do you have that friend who EVERYBODY wants to be around? They're funny, amazingly personable, remembers everything -- even that your cat has been sick -- knows the perfect compliment to make your day brighter, has a contagiously cheerful smile, is almost annoyingly polite, and always look flawless even with their hair in a ponytail? Well, meet Chick-Fil-A. I find myself making excuses to go there; a quick step inside for a delicious kale salad (OK, yes, nuggets too), and before they can get a "my pleasure" out, my day is better! Cleanliness, attention to detail, corporate integrity, quality ingredients, fresh tastes and community support are just a few reasons why Chick-Fil-A is my fast-food-go-to.
Whether it's a fun family celebration around the Hibachi grill, a quick business lunch, or Sushi for a girl's night out -- Shogun's Japanese Restaurant is an all-around favorite. Customers are eagerly welcomed at the door, and then promptly shown a table. Quick and efficient. The hibachi chefs are so entertaining and personable, knowing exactly how to make each customer feel special. The meal is prepared right before your eyes with fresh and fun ingredients! An onion volcano? Pure genius! As a dietitian, my only complaint is that they use a different food to play the "catching game" because I miss. Every. Single. Time. And all the beautiful broccoli lays sadly on the floor, my heart breaks just a little.
Restaurants: Best service in dine in restaurants would be Shoguns; I've been to most of the restaurants around this area and shoguns always treats me right. Service in this area changes depending on the day time and who is serving you, I've always had a good time at Shoguns.
Fast food: Best service in fast food hands down goes to Chick Fil-A. Any restaurant that's makes it their slogan "My Pleasure" is definitely the winner. I've had better service with their "Fast Food" than I have at some actual dine-in restaurants. They are timely and my food is always great. Never can complain about that great place.
Service quality is the cornerstone of hospitality and many places in town get it right. However, there are a few that stand out in my mind. My fast food choice was easy, Chick-fil-A at William and Gordonville, hands down. They are quick, accurate, friendly, and handle problems well (I speak from experience). These folks set the bar high for other local quick service operations. My dine-in choice was a tougher one to make, but Celebrations restaurant takes the win. The staff embraces hospitality and consistently provides a wonderful service experience. All in all, I have yet to be disappointed by either restaurant.
