Missouri Arts Council plans town hall meeting

The Missouri Arts Council is considering updating its 2004-2007 Strategic Plan. The agency is seeking citizen input to improve its Strategic Plan. Red House schedules activities for October

The Red House Interpretive Center has several activities planned for October, including a Fall Frolic for children Saturday and a 5:30 p.m. free concert by fiddler Dennis Stroughmatt on Oct. 16. Stroughmatt will play traditional French music. Arts council holds Jack Gibbons concert Oct. 21

Jack Gibbons, a British musician described as a great Gershwin-style pianist, will play a concert called "Gershwin and Friends" at 8 p.m. Oct. 21 in Academic Hall on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University. The concert will follow the annual Southeast Missouri Arts Council Meeting of the Arts. For more information call the arts council at 334-9233.

Doll-making class held at Sikeston Depot Museum

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Depot Museum and Cultural Center will hold a doll-making class with instructor Carolyn Lineberry from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 15 at 116 W. Octoberfest planned at Black Forest Village

The Black Forest Village, located four miles north of Cape Girardeau on County Road 638, will host its 15th annual Octoberfest this weekend, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Antique, collectibles show helps counseling center

The Bavarian Halle in Jackson will hold an Oktoberfest celebration on Oct. 15 from 4 to 11 p.m. The celebration will include authentic Bavarian food, music and beer. The cost of the event is free.
