POPLAR BLUFF -- An Arkansas woman was killed and three people injured in a three-vehicle accident on U.S. 67 Thursday afternoon.
Pattie Duncan, 63, of Swiston, Ark., was killed when her car struck a pickup truck driven by Danny Anderson in the rear, then traveled across the highway and struck a second truck head-on, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Two passengers in the Duncan vehicle, Cassie Shelton and Nikki Duncan, both 14 and both of Swiston, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
Anderson, 48, of Doniphan also suffered minor injuries. Anderson was stopped in traffic to make a left turn across the highway when the Duncan vehicle overtook and struck his vehicle.
The driver of the truck Duncan struck head-on, William E. Eazes, 53, of Hoxie, Ark., was not injured.
Duncan and Anderson were southbound on U.S. 67. Eazes, driving a pickup truck, was northbound.
All of the injured were transported to Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
The accident happened at 3:57 p.m., 2.5 miles south of Poplar Bluff.
