Gholson won fourth-high individual, Estes ranked fifth, Kent Kranawetter ranked sixth and Kurt Kranawetter ranked ninth.
The contest consisted of five classes for judging, two classes of reasons and an identification section.
Participants in the identification section identified 30 meat cuts, where they originated and under what conditions they were cooked.
"We are in the process of developing new programs to promote meats judging in the state of Missouri; for example, we are sponsoring a meats judging camp this summer and in the near future we hope to sponsor a coach's clinic," said Gregg Rentfrow, University of Missouri extension associate in meat science.
