A Cape Girardeau teenager suffered severe injuries Saturday morning when she lost control of the car she was driving.
Ashley Whitehouse, 19, was taken by helicopter to St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis from injuries she received while traveling northbound on Route W in Jefferson County .
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Whitehouse lost control of her vehicle on wet pavement and struck a trailer being towed by a tractor.
The tractor was driven by Bobby L. York, 61, of Rogersville, Mo. York was not injured.
