Area students are among 117 statewide who have received federally funded Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships through the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Thirteen winners were chosen in each of Missouri's nine congressional district.
The scholarships recognize outstanding academic achievement and are in the amount of $1,500.
Scholarships recipients from Cape Girardeau are: Kenneth E. Cantrell, Jason K. Green, Daniel P. Hilty and Edwin Chris Kuntz.
Other recipients are: Janelle L. Johns, Marble Hill; Katherine L . Bishop, Farmington; Winnie J. Kuo, Kennett, Jennifer R. Cresswell, Mineral Point; Lana A. Cross, Elvins; Michael E. Crider, West Plains; Morna C. Miller, Rolla; John A. Pitney, Ironton; and Steven L. Stuckmeyer, Salem.
