The 37th Annual Southeast Missouri Regional Science Fair concluded last night at the Show Me Center with the awards ceremony.
Students from area schools participated in the fair and judging took place at the junior and senior division in 22 categories ranging from botany to chemistry and engineering.
The two top senior division winners who will be attending the 44th International Science and Engineering Fair were Drew Kiesling's display in senior environmental science from Sikeston Sr. High and Melissa Engelen's display in senior zoology from Leopold R-3.
Senior division winners

Kendric Holder from Advance Jr. High and Jodi Smith from Kennett Jr. High received the American Foundation of Vision Awareness award.
Katrina Georger from Advance Jr. High and Amy Vandeven, ninth grader from Leopold R-3 received the American Society for Microbiology award.
Holly White from Sikeston Jr. High received the Association of Women Geoscientists award.
Those receiving the Audubon Society award were John Bruce, seventh grade, St. Vincent De Paul; and Kristal Berkbigler, eleventh grade, Oak Ridge R-6.

Brandy West, Kennett Jr. High and Jeff McGuirk, Sikeston Sr. High were the recipients of the Cape County Veterinary Medicine Society award.

The National Aeronautics & Space Administration award was given to Carrie Freeman, Kennett Jr. High; Seth Hunter, Sikeston Sr. High; Andy Landewee, ninth grade, Leopold; Amber Vaught, Sikeston Sr. High; and Samantha Schoen, ninth grade, Oak Ridge R-6.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People award was given to Brad Kiesling, Sikeston Jr. High; and Brandy West, Kennett Jr. High; and the group of Cortez Wallace, Meri Hines, Euseka Rodgers, Charleston Jr. High.
Melissa Engelen, eleventh grader from Leopold R-3 received the National Association of Biology Teachers award.
Sara Strickland, eleventh grader from Oak Ridge R-6 received the National Council of Teacher of Mathematics award.
The Sierra Club award was given to Carrie Freeman from Kennett Jr. High.
Recipients of the Southeast Missouri Dental Society award was given to Emily Trueblood, Cape Central Jr. High; and Holly White, Sikeston Sr. High.
Cynthia Pigg from Sikeston Sr. High received the Union Electric award.
The United States Army award was given to Chris VanGennip, engineering, ninth grade, Leopold R-3; Kristal Berkbigler, environmental sciences, eleventh grade, Oak Ridge R-6; Tom Stillman, mathematics, twelfth grade, West County R-4; Julia Green, physical sciences, Jackson High; and Holly White, life sciences, Sikeston Jr. High.
Bradley Crawford a twelfth grader from South Pemiscot received the United States Department of Energy Award.
Tracy Harmon a twelfth grader from West County R-4 received the United States Public Health Service award.
The United States Department of the Navy award winners were Melissa Engelen, eleventh grade, Leopold R-3; Bradley Crawford, twelfth grade, South Pemiscot; Carrie Freeman, Kennett Jr. High; and Bryan Schaefer, Sikeston Sr. High.
Seth Hunter, Sikeston Sr. High, received the United States Metric Association award.
Jeremy French from Advance High received the Yale Science and Engineering Association award.
The Best Group Exhibit went to Jon Clements and Joe Galati, eighth graders from St. Vincent De Paul.
Aaron Westrich from Advance Jr. High received the Overall Junior Life Science Award.
Matthew Vollink an eighth grader from St. Vincent De Paul received the Overall Junior Physical Science Award.
The Louis Unfer Scholarship was given to Bradley Crawford, twelfth grade, South Pemiscot.
The recipient of the Dr. E. Lawrence Bahn Memorial award was Tracy Harmon, twelfth grade, West County R-4; and the alternate was Resa Strickland, twelfth grade, Oak Ridge R-6.
Jason Keller from Sikeston High School was the winner of the 1994 Logo Contest.
Matthew Vollink from St. Vincent De Paul received the Top Eighth Grade Student Award.
