JACKSON -- Christopher S. McBride and Andrew R. Margrabe of Jackson have been awarded University of Missouri System Curators Scholarships.
Outstanding Missouri high school students are offered the scholarships by the university's governing body, the Board of Curators, to encourage the brightest young people to remain in the state.
Scholarship winners must score at or above the 90th percentile on a standardized college entrance test and rank among the top three students or top 3 percent of their graduating class, depending on its size. Students are nominated by their high school principal or counselor.
McBride plans to study biological sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Suffern.
Margrabe plans to study pre-law at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is the son of Fred and Cecilia Margrabe.
Curators Scholarships cover educational fees for the first academic year and may be renewed in succeeding years, provided the recipient meets academic standards.
