Shelly Froman of Zalma, Abby Seabaugh and Matt Waldron of Jackson, and Brian White of Perryville competed for Culver-Stockton College's top scholarship during an on-campus competition in January.

Culver-Stockton will award approximately 10 "Pillars for Excellence" scholarships to incoming freshmen. The scholarship is worth $7,650 and may be renewable based upon academic performance during a student's years at Culver-Stockton.

High school seniors qualified to compete by meeting two or three criteria: a 3.6 GPA, 27 ACT or a ranking in the upper 10 percent of their class.

During the competition, candidates wrote an essay and were interviewed by a panel of faculty, administration and students.

Froman is a senior at Greenville High School and the daughter of Mitchell Lee and Sandra Shirley Froman of Zalma.

Seabaugh is a senior at Jackson High School and the daughter of Darrel Allen and Bette Jean Seabaugh of Jackson.

Waldron is a senior at Jackson High School and the son of Kenneth and Norma Waldron of Jackson.

White is a senior at Perryville High School and the son of Dr. Kenneth E. and Ann White of Perryville.
