The annual Sophomore Pilgrimage is sponsored by the General Federation of Women's Clubs and will be held this week in Jefferson City.
The pilgrimage promotes citizenship and provides a view of state government in action. A tour of the governor's mansion and other state buildings, a visit to the legislative session and lunch with elected state officials is on the agenda.
Carrie Bollinger of Scott City is among students selected to attend the Sophomore Pilgrimage this spring. Michelle Keesee, also of Scott City, was chosen as an alternate. These students are sponsored by the Coalesce Club of Cape Girardeau.
Bollinger is the daughter of David and Pat Bollinger of Scott City. She is captain of the pom pon squad, and member of speech, marching band, choir, Pep Club, SADD, and an honor student.
Keesee is the daughter of William and Shirley Keesee of Scott City. She is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, SADD, band, the pom pon squad, Pep Club and Science Club.
Angelia Stricker of Kelly High School in Benton has been selected to attend the event. She is sponsored by the Quest Club of Cape Girardeau.
Stricker is a majorette, a member of Beta Club, band, Future Homemakers of America, Students Against Drinking and Driving and the Pep Club. She plays softball and participates in track. Stricker is a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Charleston.
