ORAN -- Melynda Landewee, a senior at Oran High School, has been awarded a Governor's Scholarship to Southeast Missouri State University for the 1991-92 academic year.
The scholarship covers tuition, dorm fees and a $100 yearly stipend, and is renewable. Recipients of the scholarship must rank in the top 10 percent of their class and have achieved an ACT composite score at or above the 90th percentile.
Landewee is also the recipient of an $800 Elks Club Scholarship for her freshman year, and has been honored as a Tandy Technology Scholar by the Tandy Corporation for excellence in math, science and computer science.
She is the daughter of Jerry and Carolyn Landewee of Oran.
