Cape Girardeau County residents will vote for members of the University Extension Council during the last part of January 1994. The Ballots for this election will be in local newspapers the week of January 17, 1994. Voting instructions and candidate information will also be included. Ballots will also be available at the Extension Center in Jackson.

Ballots may be returned by mail, on or before January 28, 1994, or brought to the Extension Center in Jackson. To complete a ballot vote for one of each pair of nominees listed by placing an X in the box in front of the nominee's name.

Council Members nominated and information about each candidate follows: Cathy Hemmann: Jackson. Currently serving on Extension Council. Involved in family farm operation of Schoen Dairy Farm. Married, 2 children Katie and Kyle. Member and Sunday School Superintendent of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pocahontas. Pocahontas 4-H club and County Wide Clover Kids Assistant Leader. Member of Mo. Holstein Association. Graduate of SEMO University with B.S. degree in Agriculture.

Donna Nothdurft Fields: Cape Girardeau. Social Worker/Health Educator. Gordonville Methodist Church Sunday School Teacher and Youth Choir Coordinator. Teen Pregnancy and Responsibility Network steering committee member and past chairperson.

Marie Hoffmeister: Jackson. Currently serving as Treasurer of Extension Council. Bookkeeper for Co-Op Service, Inc. Past 4-H Community Leader.

Mary A. Birk: Jackson. Bookkeeper. Member Immanuel Lutheran Church, Jackson. Active in LWML, Immanuel Altar Guild, held officers in both groups. Live on farm, past member of Extension Council. Served as 4-H leader. Served on Farm Bureau Board.

Carol Sue Ludwig, Ph.D.: Jackson. Currently serving on Extension Council. Speech Language Pathologist. Owner of Speech Pathology Associates. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. A Past president of St. Paul School Board and at present is President of the Parent Teachers League at St. Paul. Treasurer of American Business Women's Assoc.-Jackson Chapter. Own and operate a private practice in Speech Pathology in Cape Girardeau serving children and adults with speech, language and hearing disabilities. Married to Rand Ludwig, two children, Melinda and Douglas. Presently serving as Chairman of the Office Operations and Budget committee on the Cape County Extension Council.

Bernice Koerber: Gordonville. Housewife/Dairy Farmer. 4-H Project Leader for 13 years. Past Community Leader, presently Assistant Community Leader. Member of Gordonville Fire Protection District Booster Club - 4 years, currently secretary. Member 15 years with Homemakers FCE Club - current president, member Zion Lutheran Church at Gordonville. Husband - Paul, 4 children.

Doris McBryde: Jackson. Currently serving as Secretary of Extension Council. Clerk at Jackson Post Office. Married to Lawrence McBryde, have two children, Lance, 16 and Ashley, 10. Assistant leader of Fruitland 4-H Club. Have been neighborhood cookie chairman for the Girl Scouts for past three years. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Sharon K. Priest: Jackson. Registered nurse. I am active in the Jacksonian Charter Chapter of American Business women's Association as Secretary, and organizing the annual Children's funfest. One of my main interests with the community is in furthering the education of children as well as adults. I am an instructor for community CPR and Standard First Aid.

John Fred Seabaugh: Gordonville. Farmer. Lifelong Cape County resident. Vietnam Veteran. Graduate SEMO University. Farmer in Gordonville area since 1975. Married Joyce Keller Seabaugh, a 1st grade teacher in Scott City School District, 2 children. Member Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape, American Legion of Jackson.

Sam K. Beggs: Jackson. Currently serving on Extension Council. Owner-Operator Pioneer Market Company. Presently serving on Extension Council, member of Jackson Rotary Club, Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Jackson Retail Merchants, and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Tim Sievers: Jackson. Vice President Branch Manager Commerce Bank of Southeast MO. N.A. Wife - Judy, 2 boys, Jimmy and Travis, Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Member of St. Paul's Stewardship Board, Member of Jackson Chamber of Commerce, Board Member of Jackson Industrial Development Company.
