PERRYVILLE -- An 18-year-old Perryville man was killed and a St. Marys woman seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident Thursday night.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 61 just north of Rte. NN, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

According to the patrol's report, Joey P. Foster's vehicle was northbound on U.S. 61. Foster attempted to pass a vehicle driven by Arley G. Stacy, 36, of Perryville, and struck a vehicle driven by Alice R. Roth, 45, head-on. Foster's vehicle then slid across the highway, striking Stacy's vehicle.

Roth suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Perry County Memorial Hospital. She was the only of the drivers wearing a seatbelt, according to the patrol's report.
