Fruitland livestockFRUITLAND, Mo. -- Fruitland Livestock Auction Tuesday results. Receipts, 656; last week, 753; last year, 784. Compared to last week feeder steers and heifers under 500 lbs sold 5.00-8.00 higher, the rest of the offering sold steady. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady to 2.00 higher; Demand moderate and supply light. Cows made up approximately 20 percent of the run, feeders 80 percent. Steers made up approximately 56 percent of the offering, 44 percent heifers.

Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 14 percent.

Compared to last week steers under 700 lbs sold 6.00-10.00 higher. Steers over 700 lbs sold 1.00-3.00 higher; Heifers under 700 lbs sold 2.00-6.00 higher, over 700 lbs sold steady. Slaughter cows and bulls sold steady; Demand strong and supply heavy. Cows and bulls made up approximately 7 percent of the run, Steers made up approximately 47 percent of the offering, 52 percent heifers and 1 percent Holsteins. Offering over 600 lbs totaled around 19 percent.
