Any child wishing to enroll in kindergarten for the 2002-03 school year must be at least 5-years-old before Aug. 1. The following are enrollment dates for April:
Trinity Lutheran
TRINITY LUTHERAN SCHOOL at 55 N. Pacific in Cape Girardeau currently is enrolling pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students for the 2002-2003 school year.
To be eligible for pre-school, children must be 4 years of age by Aug. 1.
Interested families can stop by the school office or call 334-1068.
Oran
ORAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL kindergarten enrollment for the 2002-03 school year will be April 10 and 11 from 8:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Parents must first contact the school office at 262-3435 to make an appointment.
Parents are reminded children entering kindergarten need to have their last set of shots before school begins. Parents should bring the child's updated shot record book along with a copy of the birth certificate and social security card to enrollment.
PARENTS AS TEACHERS PRESCHOOL screening will also be held April 11 for 3- and 4-year-olds. Call the school to make an appointment.
Nell Holcomb
NELL HOLCOMB SCHOOL will be hold 2002-03 kindergarten enrollment screenings on April 4 at Hobb's United Methodist Church on State Highway 177.
Appointments are necessary beginning at 8:30 a.m. They can be made by calling the school at 334-3644.
Each child needs to bring a copy of the following to the enrollment: official birth certificate, Social Security card and immunization record.
The school will also be holding PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS for 3- and 4-year-olds at the same time and location. Appointments are necessary.
Delta
DELTA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL will hold kindergarten screenings April 9 and 10.
Parents or legal guardians must bring the child's birth certificate, immunization records and Social Security card with them.
Call the school at 794-2440 for an appointment.
Cape Girardeau
BLANCHARD ELEMENTARY will hold screenings from 1-7 p.m. April 4 and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 5.
FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY will hold screenings from 1:30 to 7:30 p.m. on April 22 and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 23.
ALMA SCHRADER ELEMENTARY will hold screenings from 1-7 p.m. April 29 and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 30.
The children will be screened in areas of language, concepts, motor, vision, hearing and health.
Educare will also be offering their Kindergarten Passport Program during screening times.
Oak Ridge
THE OAK RIDGE SCHOOL DISTRICT will have kindergarten screenings and enrollment on April 5.
Parents must bring a copy of their child's official birth certificate, immunization record and Social Security card at the time of enrollment.
The district will also be holding PRESCHOOL SCREENINGS for 3- and 4-year-olds the same day.
Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the elementary school at 266-3232.
Jackson
THE JACKSON SCHOOL DISTRICT will hold its 2002-03 school year kindergarten enrollment April 8 at the Primary Annex, 444 W. Jefferson, from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
At the time of enrollment the parent must provide the child's official birth certificate, immunization record, Social Security number and proof of residency. The child does not have to be present at the time of enrollment.
