Area grad completes Navy basic training

Navy Seaman Recruit Ray E. Simmons, son of Carey L. and Jeffery W. Simmons of Thebes, Ill., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill. Simmons is a 2007 graduate of Egyptian High School in Olive Branch, Ill.
