CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Earl H. Norman has been appointed to the Capital Bancorporation, Inc. Board of Directors.

Norman is chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Health Services Corporation of America, a major U.S. hospital group purchasing corporation for more than 900 acute-care hospitals and 700 alternate site organizations. He also developed Healthcare Transportation System Inc., a hospital contract carrier, to service and deliver to Midwestern hospitals.

In 1990 he founded Health Careers Foundation by HSCA to provide educational scholarship opportunities for the healthcare industry.

Norman and his wife, Ruth, live in Cape Girardeau and are parents of two children, Eric and Anne.

He is a founding member of the Southeast Missouri Regional Commerce and Growth Association, chairman of the Highway and Transportation Committee 1987-1988, board member of the 630 Development Corporation, and a board member of the Health Careers Foundation. He is also a founding member of the Interstate 66 project.

Norman succeeds William L. Bowers, who has retired from the board of Capital Bancorporation. Bowers will continue as vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Capital Bank of Cape County.

Capital Bancorporation is a multi-bank holding company with five affiliate banks and 19 locations in Missouri communities, at Bonne Terre, Cape Girardeau, Clayton, Columbia, Jackson, Perryville, Poplar Bluff, Marble Hill, Ste. Genevieve, and Sikeston.
