SIKESTON -- Applications are available for the Sikeston Jaycee Rodeo Queen Pageant and for a Rodeo-Week arts and crafts show.

The Rodeo Queen Pageant will be held on July 31 at 7 p.m. at the Sikeston Inn and is open to young women between the ages of 18 and 26 who are high school graduates and have never been married.

Contestants will be judged on horsemanship and rodeo knowledge, overall appearance, personality, mental alertness, vocabulary, sincerity and manners.

The contest includes personal interviews in western attire and horsemanship with judges on July 26 at 1 p.m. and a beauty contest on July 31 including western and formal evening wear.

The queen will represent the rodeo at various functions throughout the year. She will also ride in the Grand Entry at each rodeo performance this year, Aug. 5-8.

For an application form or more information, call 471-7506. Entries must be received by Saturday.

The Kingsway Mall Merchants Association of Sikeston is holding the seventh annual Rodeo Week Arts and Crafts Show Aug. 5-8.
