Several antique automobiles and motorcycles will be displayed on Main Street during Riverfest '97 this Friday and Saturday.
Riverfest organizers said this is the first year for the motorcycles to be displayed. Exhibitors have registered their vehicles from across the state.
Dr. W.A. Williams Jr. of the Williams Family Care Clinic will display a DeLorean automobile Friday and Saturday during the festival. There were only approximately 8,000 DeLoreans manufactured. The famous automobiles were made of stainless steel construction and were assembled in Ireland in 1982 and 1983. The car featured gull wing doors.
Riverfest T-Shirts are still available through Thursday at Horizon Screen Printing at 430 Broadway. Shirts will also be on sale during the Riverfest.
The Miss Riverfest and Little Miss Fun-in-the Sun pageants are still in need of contestants.
Young women from the surrounding area are encouraged to compete. The Miss Riverfest contest will be Friday night for students in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. Little Miss Fun in-the-Sun contest will be Saturday night for children ages 4 to 6.
Those interested may call the Riverfest office at 335-1388.
