SoutheastHEALTH on Friday announced the retirement of its chief operating officer, Sly Moore.

Moore will be the fifth member of SoutheastHEALTH's senior management team to leave through retirement or other circumstances since April.

The changes, according to a news release from the SoutheastHEALTH marketing department, "are part of a significant effort to position the health care system for the challenging times ahead in healthcare."

Moore's last day at the organization is Nov. 30, though she will be available for consultation through Jan. 10, according to the release.

Other executives who have left this year include CEO Wayne Smith, who retired last month; and chief financial officer Hugh King and vice president and chief medical officer Dr. Dennis Means, who announced their departures on the same day in April.

Jim Limbaugh, who was vice president of planning and business development, also left the organization recently under unrevealed circumstances. SoutheastHEALTH confirmed Limbaugh's departure Wednesday but declined further comment, citing privacy required for personnel issues.

Moore's retirement is "part of an ongoing organizational realignment undertaken by SoutheastHEALTH," according to the release. Marketing director Shauna Hoffman said Friday afternoon that executives were not available for comment to provide additional information on the changes.

Moore began in the position when it was created during a reorganization of executive roles for SoutheastHEALTH in 2010, according to Southeast Missourian archives.
