The Show Me Center will host a Sports Show Feb. 1-2 that will showcase the newest in fishing, hunting, camping and boating equipment.

Steve Nicholas, one of the show's organizers, said boat, recreational vehicle and motorcycle dealers will bring along their latest models.

"They'll bring what's new and what's different," he said.

The two-day show will begin at 10 a.m. each day, and end at 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2 at the door, and children under 12 will be admitted free.

Two professional athletes will present seminars during the show, Nicholas said.

Professional fisherman Bo Dowden from Louisiana will gives tips on fishing techniques. Dowden is with the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society and fishes on the BASS circuit.

Dowden's seminars will be held at 1 and 4 p.m. each day.

Lisa Bremer, a professional golfer from Paducah, Ky. also will present a golfing seminar at 3 p.m. Saturday. Bremer has been a teaching professional with the LPGA since 1986.

Nicholas said representatives from several vacation spots also will attend the sports show.

"This show traditionally kicks off the selling season. Lots of people are pretty serious about it," he said.

Last year's show attracted about 7,000 people.

A remote control color television donated by Schnucks will be given away as a door prize, he said.
