Anna woman charged with murder of child

JONESBORO, Ill. -- An Anna, Ill., woman has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a child, according to release from Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds on Thursday.

Stacey R. Tiffin, 39, is accused of suffocating the child Sept. 16. Tiffin is set for a first appearance on 11 a.m., Friday at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

Tiffin was arrested Thursday following in investigation by the Union County sheriff and coroner, the Illinois State Police and the Southern Illinois Child Death Task Force.
