ANNA NATIVE NAMED BRIGADIER GENERAL

ANNA, Ill. -- John C. Reppert, a 32-year veteran of the Army, has received a promotion, to brigadier general.

Reppert, a specialist in the military of the former Soviet Union, will return to Russia next summer for a two-year tour. His wife, Pat, will accompany him.

Reppert, a native of Anna, is a 1959 graduate of Anna-Jonesboro High School. He joined the Army in 1966.

Reppert is a Vietnam veteran and has served many overseas assignments.

Reppert is the son of the late H. Clay and Lewida Reppert, who published the Anna Gazette-Democrat newspaper. He is the brother of Jerry Reppert, an Anna businessman who currently publishes the newspaper.
