Hill is working on two books: One is her memoirs and personal reflections of her testimony during the 1991 nomination hearings on Clarence Thomas and the other deals with race and gender issues.

In addition to Hill's address, several other activities are planned throughout the month to commemorate King's birthday. This year's celebration theme is "Days of Remembrance, Reflections and Rededication to King's Dream."

The official kickoff of the 1995 observance will be held at noon Jan. 12 on the steps of Academic Hall.

Dr. Shirley Stennis-Williams, dean of Southeast's College of Education, will discuss equality in education. In case of bad weather, the event will be held in Academic Hall Auditorium.

Several displays honoring King will be erected at Kent Library and the University Center.

On Jan. 13, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Candlelight March will be held. The 6:30-p.m. march will start at the University Center and proceed to the First Baptist Church, 926 Broadway.

At 7 p.m., the fifth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration will be held at First Baptist Church.
