Anderson said he had not been informed that he was now the only contendor for the superintendent's position, but said he thinks the Mehlville School Board intends to announce its choice at a board meeting Monday night.

Anderson was one of 30 people who applied for the position currently held by John Cary, who will retire this summer. He was one of three position finalists to take part in the final interviewing stage Dec. 14.
