The American Queen won't dock in downtown Cape Girardeau Wednesday because of the low water conditions of the Mississippi River.
Only one more docking of the "Queens" is on the 1996 schedule for Cape Girardeau. The Delta Queen visits between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sept. 8.
The Queens -- Delta Queen, American Queen and Mississippi Queen -- have stopped in Cape Girardeau 15 times this summer.
"All three of the steamers are already working on plans to visit our city again in 1997," said Mary Miller, director of the city's Convention and Visitors Bureau.
