Ameren will begin work Thursday installing a gas regulator station just north of the Independence Street and East Rodney Drive intersection in Cape Girardeau.

The work is expected to continue for one week, weather permitting, the city announced.

During construction, north- and southbound travel lanes will be shifted and narrowed to allow Ameren to work on the east side of East Rodney Drive. The lanes will return to normal widths on nights and weekends. The city asks drivers use caution when traveling in the work zone.
