COLUMBIA -- David M. Haggard of Kennett, has been named Alumnus of the Year by the University of Missouri-Columbia College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Haggard farms 2,300 acres, raising wheat, corn and soybeans, and operates a seed business in the Bootheel area.
Haggard is currently serving as chairman of the Delta Center Advisory Board and was instrumental in establishing the Delta Center Foundation to support research and education. He also serves on the Coordinating board of Higher Education.
He has served as president of the American Soybean Association, the Missouri Soybean Association, the Missouri Seed Improvement Association and the Pemiscot Farm Bureau.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture economics from Missouri University in 1965.
