Alto Pass man seriously hurt in crash

ALTO PASS, Ill. -- An Alto Pass man received serious injuries in a one-car crash on Friday morning on Skyline Drive in Alto Pass. Illinois State Police District 22 personnel, Union County rescue units and the Cobden Police Department responded to the accident and the driver, Rickie J. Collie, 51, was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries. He was driving east on Skyline Drive when he lost control of his 2002 maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer and struck a driveway culvert, according to the Illinois State Police. Collie was wearing his seat belt, but received a citation for improper lane usage.
