The Alma Schrader sixth grade team took first place in the district Missouri Mathematics League contest recently.
The team also placed 19th of 225 teams in the state.
In the individual competition, Wade Russell from Alma Schrader won first place and Trent Redfearn won second place. Russell also placed 22 in the entire state.
The region includes nine Southeast Missouri counties.
Seven students from Alma Schrader competed in the contest. The top five scores were combined for a team score, and each student competed individually.
The test includes 40 math problems, which require advanced computational skills.
Team members include Russell, Redfearn, Kelly Morgan, Rahul Kamath, Elizabeth Green, Jeremy Driskell and Kandra Bowers.
For the team's performance, Alma Schrader will receive a plaque.
