A Sikeston, Missouri, man was charged with robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, and all he had to show for the alleged crimes, according to police, was $1 and a half-pack of cigarettes.
Scott County Circuit Court filed an arrest warrant Wednesday against Tyren Jawan Johnson, 17, for charges stemming from an alleged robbery.
Johnson is charged with robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use weapon, all felonies. Johnson and a man identified as his uncle were picked up about 7:50 p.m. Oct. 21 at a gas station at 600 N. Main St. in Sikeston by the victim, according to a probable-cause statement from Sikeston Department of Public Safety officer Scott Kim.
They asked the driver to pull over, and the "uncle exited the vehicle and pointed a silver pistol at the victim's neck," the report stated.
"Give me all your stuff. What's up then?" the uncle said, according to Kim's statement. "How much money do you have?"
Johnson and the other man went through the victim's pockets and took what he had: $1 and half a pack of cigarettes. Johnson and the other man then ran back toward the gas station.
Johnson attends the same school as the victim who gave a statement to police, according to the report.
"(The victim) believes that Mr. Johnson thinks he sells marijuana, which he stated he does not," Kim wrote in the report.
Johnson was arrested Tuesday and talked to a Sikeston detective.
"Mr. Johnson would not inform us who his 'uncle' was," Kim wrote. "I heard him state several times that he was not a 'snitch' when walked down to booking."
Bond was set at $50,000 cash.
